The days are getting longer, the weather is warming up and after a long winter, there's often a little extra motivation to get movingand get back into a good routine.
It can feel like the perfect time for a big reset.
More training. More walking. Better food. More water. Earlier nights. Getting organised. Doingall the things.
But before you try to overhaul everything at once, remember this:
The habits that make the biggest difference are the ones you can actually stick to.
So if you're feeling that spring motivation, here are a few ways to use it to build habits that last well beyond just the next few weeks.
When motivation is high, it's easy to go all in.
You decide you're going to train four times a week, hit 10,000 steps every day, meal prep every Sunday and never touch chocolate again

Instead, start with something so achievable that it's hardnotto do.
Want to move more? Start with a 10-minute walk after lunch.
Want to eat better? Prep just your snacks for the week.
Want to get back into training consistently? Start by booking your sessions for the week ahead.
Small and consistent beats big and short-lived.
Make it so easy you can't say no - Leo Babauta
The easier a habit is to fit into your life, the more likely you are to keep doing it.
Attach your new habit to something you already do or remove the little barriers that normally get in the way.
Want to drink more water? Have a big bottle sitting on your desk.
Want to walk in the morning? Put your shoes and clothes out the night before.
Want to train consistently? Book your sessionsbeforethe week gets busy.
Don't rely on yourself to make the right decision on the spot every single time. Set things up so the right decision is the easy one.
Success is a few simple steps, practiced every day; while failure is a few errors in judgment, repeated every day — Jim Rohn
Once something starts feeling normal, thenbuild on it.
Your 10-minute walk might become 20 minutes.
Prepping snacks might turn into prepping lunches.
Two consistent training sessions might become three.
You don't need to change everything overnight. You just need to continue practicing the successful things each day.
Life happens.
You'll miss a training session. You'll have a busy weekend. You'll order takeaway. You'll forget about the walk you promised yourself you'd do.
That doesn't mean you've failed.
A really useful rule is: Never miss twice.
One missed day doesn't undo your progress. The important part is getting back to your routine as quickly as possible rather than waiting for another Monday, another month or another burst of motivation.
You don't have to rely on motivation alone.
Book your training sessions ahead of time. Put reminders in your phone. Track your walks. Prep with a friend. Tell someone what you're working towards.
