As Easter & the school holidays wrap up and life begins to feel a little more “normal” again, it’s totally natural to feel a bit of resistance when it comes to getting back into your regular routine, especially after a period of changed schedules, big events, or family getaways.
Whether you went on a family holiday, had a long weekend away (or will be this weekend), or simply found yourself out of routine because the kids were home from school, there’s something really valuable about stepping back.
These breaks offer us a chance to pause the hustle, spend quality time with loved ones, and reset mentally and physically. For many of us, that might look like late breakfasts, fewer alarms, and unstructured days that allowed us to just be for a while.
And that’s not a bad thing. Slowing down helps us zoom out and reconnect with what matters, so that when we do return to routine, we can do it with a clearer head and more awareness.
One of the simplest ways to ease back into rhythm is to plan one thing that sets your week up for success. Maybe that’s doing a quick grocery shop, scheduling your workouts on Bookyway, or just mapping out your meals for the next few days. Small actions create momentum. Don’t wait to “feel motivated”—just take a step.
We’re big on structure because we know how much mental load our members carry. That’s why we’ve got your workouts covered! Your group training allows you to have a plan removing that daily question of “What should I do today?”. Use it to your advantage to help get yourself back to your weekly training routine.
It’s easy to feel a little off after the holidays - maybe you didn’t move as much, ate a bit differently, or just feel like you're not “in the zone” yet. But that doesn’t mean you’ve gone backwards. Life has seasons, and this past one might’ve been slower, messier, or more family-focused. And that’s okay.
What matters now isn’t punishing yourself back into routine. Start small: book a session, go for a walk, prep one healthy meal. You don’t need to overhaul everything at once.
Remember: you’re not starting from scratch, you’re simply picking up where you left off, with more downtime, more memories made, and just a few more chocolate eggs in the mix.
